Day 1 COLOGNE
Selected early morning coach pick-ups and a
journey to Dover/Folkestone for the 8.15am ferry/
Eurotunnel crossing to Calais.Alternatively, we offer
overnight hotel accommodation close to port for those who would prefer.
From Calais we continue into Germany to arrive
at Cologne, where you will join cruise vessel
MS Arlene in time for a welcome drink and included
three-course evening meal. The remainder of the
evening is at leisure in Cologne.
Those taking the air option will fly direct to the
region and transfer to the vessel.
Day 2 COLOGNE, OBERWINTER, KOBLENZ
This morning we will cruise to Oberwinter where
we will arrive during lunch. Today, don't miss
the chance to join our optional Moselle explorer
excursion, taking in the picturesque town of
Cochem, famous for its traditional market place and
unique setting beneath the Reichsburg Castle, and
the well-preserved medieval town of Beilstein.
Those not taking the optional excursion will cruise
to the lovely historic town of Koblenz, at the
confluence of the Rhine and Moselle and overlooked
by the famous Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.
Day 3 KOBLENZ, RÜDESHEIM, MAINZ
This morning we will cruise to the delightful wine
village of Rüdesheim on the banks of the Rhine.
Following lunch on board you will have time to
explore its charming narrow streets full of shops and
welcoming wine taverns. Alternatively you may wish
to join our optional excursion to Siegfried's Musik
Kabinett and wine tasting in Adolf's cellar.
During dinner on board we will cruise to Mainz, in
the heart of Germany's wine growing region.
Day 4 MAINZ, FRANKFURT, ASCHAFFENBURG
A morning cruise to Frankfurt, situated on the River
Main, where there will be free time to explore this
dynamic city of contrasts, with its modern skyscrapers
and historic cathedral. We will rejoin the vessel in the
Bavarian town of Aschaffenburg in time for dinner.
Day 5 ASCHAFFENBURG, MILTENBERG, WERTHEIM
Today we continue our cruise along the River Main
to Miltenberg. From here you can join our optional
excursion to the university city of Heidelberg, famous
for its pink sandstone castle. Alternatively, stay on
board and as we continue our cruise along the River
Main to the picturesque town of Wertheim.
Day 6 WERTHEIM, LOHR, WURZBURG
During breakfast we cruise to Lohr where we make a
technical stop before continuing to Wurzburg. Don't
miss the chance today to join our optional full day
Rothenburg & the Romantic Road excursion.
A packed lunch will be provided. We will rejoin the
vessel in Wurzburg in time for dinner.
Day 7 WURZBURG, SCHWEINFURT
Today we will cruise to Schweinfurt, where you will
have the afternoon to explore this bustling town on
the banks of the River Main. Following dinner this
evening. you can enjoy our specially arranged live
entertainment on board.
Day 8 SCHWEINFURT, BAMBURG
Enjoy breakfast and lunch on board as we cruise to
Bamberg, one of the prettiest towns in Germany,
where on arrival you can take advantage of our
optional city tour and beer tasting. It's a wonderful
opportunity to see the main sights of this
perfectly-preserved town and sample some of the
huge varieties of beer brewed here.
Day 9 BAMBURG, NUREMBURG
Depart Bamberg this morning and cruise to
Nuremburg, where, following lunch on board, the
rest of the day is free for you to explore this famous
city steeped in history. After dinner on board this
evening, you may wish to take a stroll and enjoy a
night out in the city.
Day 10 NUREMBURG, RIEDENBURG
Today we will cruise to Riedenburg, in its lovely
setting on the banks of the River Danube. Following
our mid-afternoon arrival here there will be time at
leisure to enjoy the sights of this attractive town.
Dinner this evening will be followed by our specially
arranged party night with live entertainment.
Day 11 RIEDENBURG, REGENSBURG
Following breakfast this morning you won't want to
miss the chance to join our optional full-day excursion
to Munich, the great Bavarian city full of history
and architectural treasures. A packed lunch will be
provided. Alternatively, stay on board and cruise along
the River Danube to the picturesque Bavarian town
of Regensburg, where our those taking the optional
excursion will rejoin the vessel.
Day 12 REGENSBURG, PASSAU
We continue our scenic journey along the River
Danube to the town of Passau, situated near the
Austrian border. The afternoon and evening is free
for you to enjoy another of Germany's beautiful cities,
renowned for its magnificent Cathedral of St Stephen.
Day 13 PASSAU, LINZ
This morning we cruise into Austria and arrive at the
lovely town of Linz. This afternoon you may wish to
join our optional excursion to St Florian Abbey, well
known for its splendid baroque architecture.
Day 14 LINZ(for Vienna), GREIN
Following breakfast there will be an included full day
visit by coach to Vienna, the elegant Austrian capital,
where you can delight in its coffee houses and
beautiful buildings. A packed lunch will be provided.
We rejoin the vessel in Grein in time for dinner.
Day 15 GREIN, MELK
This morning we cruise to Melk, where the Danube
and Melk rivers meet. Following lunch the rest of
the day is at leisure for you to explore the town.
Tonight there's our special Captain's cocktail party
and dinner to round off another delightful day.
Day 16 MELK
This morning we disembark after breakfast and
journey to our overnight hotel in the Frankfurt region
of Germany, arrriving in time for an included dinner.
Those taking the air option will transfer directly to
the airport for the return flight to the UK.
Day 17
After breakfast we continue to Calais for the 6.25pm
crossing to Dover/Folkestone. Upon arrival you will
be returned to your original point of departure.

holiday itinerary. Your itinerary will be confirmed
